Highly optimistic vision :)… No need for social feed. Social networks would open up, and allow you to import your material from other sources. It would also allow you to switch networks, but still be able to communicate with your friends.
Current social networks don’t allow this, which is somewhat reasonable — they are keeping their users by that. You use the network most of your friends use. This could be compared to telephony users being able to communicate only to the people on the same network. It would be bad.
So, I predict opening up. It would make the market more competitive, because the users would use the network which suits them most, and not just because their friends use it. Here’s another analogy to the telephony: in some countries it is possible to switch mobile networks, and to keep your number. This seems like logical next step for social networks, too.
